This album is simply superb. Tremolo picking and blast beats present the black metal fury, though this album resonates emotionally on a deep level. Tormented vocals, and heartrending lyrics convey perfectly the themes of depression and isolation the band is exploring. The album’s great sense for melody, mixed with delicate piano and clean/choral vocals help to make this an intensely emotional and deeply cathartic listen. It delivers touching emotion without lacking any potency.
